About Your New Employer: This opportunity is with a leading energy infrastructure organisation delivering complex high voltage and renewable energy projects across Australia, including substations, associated HV infrastructure and BESS. With a strong pipeline of projects, the business is continuing to grow its design and engineering capability and is looking for a technically strong electrical professional to take a lead role across project design and delivery. About Your New Role: As the Design Manager, you will provide technical leadership across the design and delivery of HV substation projects, working closely with internal project teams, external engineering consultants and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. You will provide technical input from the pre-sales stage, oversee design delivery, coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, manage external consultants and provide technical support through construction, commissioning and energisation. Key Responsibilities Provide technical input to sales and tender teams, covering design, scope and constructability Own the end-to-end design delivery of HV substation projects, from early design through to completion Coordinate civil, structural, primary and secondary disciplines to ensure technical accuracy and constructability Manage internal design teams, external consultants and OEMs, aligning design, procurement and technical requirements Attend meetings with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal management to negotiate requirements and resolve design issues Own the design programme alongside the Project Manager, managing interfaces, deliverables and schedule through to completion About You: To succeed in this role, you will bring Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience with strong HV substation exposure Experience in EHV substation design, with projects at 110kV and above Strong understanding of substation design, engineering standards and technical specifications Experience leading design teams, managing external consultants and supporting end-to-end project delivery Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams How To Apply If this opportunity aligns with your background, Apply Now or contact Sefa Prasad 0483 945 772 for a confidential discussion.
