About your new employer Our client is a growing and well-established engineering consultancy delivering practical and value-engineered solutions across a diverse range of projects within the building services industry. As part of their continued growth, they have the opportunity to add a Mechanical Drafter to their team in a permanent, full-time position. This role will be based out of their Newcastle office. About your new role As a Mechanical Drafter, you will work closely with mechanical engineers, clients, architects, builders and other engineering disciplines to produce detailed HVAC drawings and documentation for a range of building services projects. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing detailed HVAC drawings, layouts, schematics and documentation using Autodesk Revit. Developing and updating mechanical services models in line with project requirements, specifications and relevant standards. Coordinating mechanical services designs with architectural, structural and other building services disciplines. Reviewing drawings and models to identify clashes, inconsistencies and opportunities for improved design coordination. Assisting engineers with the preparation of technical documentation and design deliverables. Incorporating design changes and feedback from engineers, clients and construction teams. Supporting the delivery of practical, coordinated and value-engineered HVAC solutions. About you To be successful in this position, you will have: A qualification in Mechanical Drafting, Building Services Drafting or a related discipline. Minimum 4+ years' experience in mechanical drafting, ideally within the building services industry. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical services drafting principles. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and experience producing detailed mechanical services drawings and models. An understanding of relevant industry standards, building codes and design coordination processes. Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
