Declan Stacey
Get to know Declan Stacey, Senior Consultant at West Recruitment. Specialising in Accounting & Finance across Sydney and NSW.
From the age of 8 I trained in the elite Gymnastics program which led me to a career highlight of Gold at the 2011 Junior Commonwealth Games on Floor. At the ripe age of 22 I transitioned into 10m platform diving and was fortunate to be competing Internationally after 11 months in the sport. I went on to win medals at 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2018 World Cup and 2x 2019 World Series events before the Covid-19 pandemic halted my Olympic dream. In 2021, I used the skills learnt from a life in sport and harnessed that into a career in recruitment. My recruitment career has been built on creating genuine relationships, being transparent and staying consistent, ensuring I take the time to understand the goals of both clients and candidates to create long-term successful outcomes. I feel grateful that my values for hard work, discipline and a love for people get to shine through in my day to day job. My greatest achievement, however, is building a happy home with two beautiful children who keep me on my toes! I am a big sports fan and enjoy following Rugby League in winter (Dragons!), Cricket and Tennis in summer. I love playing touch footy and Oztag, table tennis, cards and snowboarding...
