This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation which has cemented itself as an industry leader in the Australian market. Working in busy, high-volume environment, the role would suit a highly experienced Accounts Payable Manager who has led large teams and has a passion for process improvement.
About your new job
Reporting to the CFO, your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and motivate a large team of Accounts Payable Officers
• Assign responsibilities and tasks across the team to ensure objectives are met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Communicating with Suppliers and handling escalated accounts payable enquiries
• Overseeing controls and month-end reporting
• Train and mentor new and existing staff in department procedures and daily tasks
• Providing additional training where required
• Ensure compliance with staff expenses and internal approval policies
• Review of Supplier Statement reconciliations and finalise payment runs
• Review and asses current processes and procedures and identify areas for improvements
• Assist with automation and streamlining projects within the AP space
• Managing the system implementation across the accounts payable function, ensuring any potential risks are identified and remediated.
• Ensuring the Creditors ledger is in line with agreed vendor terms
• Work closely with the Treasury team in relation to company's cash flow
• Ad-hoc tasks as required
About You:
You will be an Accounts Payable Manager with a background in projects.. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have exposure in the following:
• Extensive background in leading an Accounts Payable team – ideally within a high volume and large team structure
• Proven record in projects and ongoing process and procedure improvements
• Ideally, have a background in FMCG, Manufacturing, or Distribution industries
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to build relationships and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
